Biluochun tea

Biluochun | Rich Aroma Type 【Heavy Fire, Deep Rhythm】301g

One Cup, Captivated · Floral Fruity Honey Essence

---

Core Value · Redefining Rich Aroma Biluochun

· Character Remodeled · Heavy Fire Seeks Rhythm: Adhering to the use of tender buds and leaves from the core Dongting production area, elevated by a unique heavy fire process. The tea's aroma shifts from a fresh floral-fruity fragrance to a rich, sweet, and mellow ripe fruit and honey essence. The liquor transforms from brisk and refreshing to thick, smooth, and sweet, subverting the traditional sensory perception of Biluochun.
· Core Terroir · Ecological Heritage: Raw materials originate from the ecological tea gardens on Dongting East Hill/West Hill in Suzhou, nurtured by the mists of Lake Tai and interplanted with fruit trees and flowering woods, which impart the natural foundation for the tea's floral and fruity aromatic compounds.
· Seasonal Precision · Mature Leaves: Carefully selected high-quality fresh leaves with slightly higher maturity picked around the Guyu (Grain Rain) solar term. Rich in inner substances, they withstand repeated rolling and firing, forming a profound, mellow base.
· Artisan Charcoal Baking · Slow Fire Condenses Aroma: Building upon traditional methods, an additional step of gentle, slow charcoal baking is applied. Using lychee wood charcoal, the deep-seated sugary and honeyed notes of the tea are coaxed out. The fire skill penetrates the bone of the leaf, fully integrating the aroma into the liquor.

Sensory Experience · Mellow Honey Essence

· Dry Leaves
  · Appearance: Slender, tightly curled strips, with pekoe (silvery down) subtly visible. Color is dark green with a frosty hue.
  · Aroma: Warm sniff reveals a rich roasted rice and baked sweetness, with subtle ripe fruit and honey nuances upon closer inspection.
· Liquor
  · Color: Golden yellow, bright, clear, and glossy.
  · Aroma: High and sharp, with lasting fragrance. The warmed lid aroma is sweet, dried fruit and honey-like; the cooled cup aroma transforms into an elegant orchid fragrance, displaying rich layers.
  · Taste: Entry is mellow, full-bodied, rich, and powerfully refreshing. The initial impression is a distinct roasted nutty sweetness, followed by a mid-palate wave of ripe fruit and honey essence. The finish is clean, sweet, and lingering, with a warm throat feel and swift, enduring sweet aftertaste and saliva-inducing effect.
  · Spent Leaves: Soft, plump, evenly bright, and unfurled. After brewing, they stretch out vividly, showing the classic "green leaf with red rim."

Origin & Craftsmanship · The Art of Fire

1. Terroir: The Dongting mountain peninsula enjoys a mild, humid climate. Tea gardens are interplanted with peach, plum, apricot, and citrus trees, their interconnected root systems allowing natural infusion of floral and fruity scents into the tea leaves.
2. Plucking: Strict selection of one bud with one or two leaves, harvested around the Guyu period when the leaf's internal compounds are more balanced, with a suitable ratio of polyphenols to amino acids for heavy fire transformation.
3. Heavy Fire Process:
   · Fixing (Sha Qing): High-temperature rapid frying to quickly lock in intrinsic qualities.
   · Rolling: Heavy rolling to express juices, laying the foundation for flavor thickness.
   · Kneading & Shaping (Cuo Tuan Xian Hao): Traditional hand techniques to shape the leaves and bring out the pekoe.
   · Slow Charcoal Baking (Core Step): Using lychee wood charcoal for low-temperature, prolonged slow baking over ten hours or more. This promotes Maillard reactions between sugars and amino acids, generating the unique roasted aroma, honey essence, and thick liquor texture.

Brewing Guide · Unleashing the Mellow Rhythm

· Vessel: A Zhu Ni or Zi Ni Yixing clay teapot is recommended to better condense aroma and soften water. A white porcelain gaiwan can also accurately present the liquor color changes.
· Water Temperature: 95°C - 100°C boiling water poured directly onto the leaves is necessary to help the tightly curled strips unfurl and fully release their rich aromatic essence.
· Ratio: 5g of dry leaves per 150ml of water (a slightly heavier ratio is suggested for the Rich Aroma type).
· Method:
  · Rinse: Quick infusion, pour and immediately decant to awaken the leaves.
  · Brewing: For the first 3 infusions, brew and decant immediately to experience the high aroma and strong flavor. Starting from the 4th infusion, increase the steeping time by 5-10 seconds per brew to explore the changing layers of flavor. Excellent durability, capable of 8-10 infusions without losing its lingering charm.
· Enjoyment: Best enjoyed hot to fully appreciate the integration and evolution of its aroma and rich liquor in the mouth.

【A Cup of Rich Aroma, Tempered by Time】

This is more than 301g of tea leaves; it is a gift of flavor tempered by time and fire mastery. We have forged a new path from the traditional fresh aroma type, using heavy fire techniques to explore another possibility for Biluochun—more mellow, thicker, and warmer. May this cup of tea, condensed with floral-fruity honey essence and the warmth of charcoal fire, accompany you through moments needing solace and strength.

Fire penetrates the tea's bone, aroma holds honeyed essence. One cup of rich mellowness warms the stomach and the heart.

---

Note: Due to the higher fire level, Rich Aroma Biluochun has darker dry leaves and a golden-yellow liquor color—these are characteristics of the craft, not signs of aged tea. First-time drinkers or those accustomed to the fresh aroma type may reduce the leaf amount to adapt to its rich style. Images are for reference only. Please refer to the physical product.
